Mona Vale Raiders
Sep 24 2020

They smashed them 30-0 in the round game but history will count for nothing when Mona Vale Raiders take on Cromer Kingfishers in the U/13 Blues Tag grand final on Saturday at Brookvale Oval.

And Raiders coach Esme Sergi knows it.

“That score means nothing.

“We know the Kingfishers are a very physical team.

“To beat them we need to work really hard on the field the entire game and work as a team together.

“We need to run hard and put the pressure on,” Sergi said.

As they have all season, the Raiders will look to Sasha Dowling to run hard and fast, and to Eliza Henry for great goal kicking and kicks in play.

The team will sweat on the fitness of top tagger and runner Bonnie Stubbington who is coming off an injury. Esme is confident either way.

“We’ve had games when we’ve played with 2 or 3 less players and still managed to win and have a great game.

“All season the team has gone undefeated and always working hard on the field.

“All season we put what we learnt in training on the field on game day.”
