On Saturday 2 September 1939 a testimonial game was played at Waverley Oval for Alan Kippax.
Following the game a ball in Kippax's honour was held at David Jones.
Quite a tribute.
Rare footage of the game is attached. If you look closely at the beginning you can see the grandstand is packed which it invariably was in those days when local cricket was keenly followed.
