Michael played 38 Test matches taking 113 wickets with a best of 7 for 36. Michael made his debut for Queensland as a 17 year old whilst still at secondary school. Michael's record was prolific, playing over 250 first class matches whilst taking 959 wickets. Michael also represented the Australian Schoolboys in Rugby Union.
Since retiring Michael has been involved business and sports administration. Michael was Chairman of the sport tech company 'SportCor' and more recently he was appointed CEO of Talisman People, which provides bespoke Team and Leadership Programs at all levels in organisations with curriculum delivered through the elite sport lens.
