1st Grade playing on Ken Mackay Oval at Toombul resumed their innings at 1/35 chasing a massive 392 runs. The day didn’t start as planned as we lost an early wicket. Partnerships would build & just as momentum was turning a wicket would fall. Leigh Drennan came to the crease at 3/99 & we needed a captain’s knock. And that is what he delivered. When Jack Sinfield came to the crease Redlands were 6/196, from there Leigh posted an unbeaten 164* & Jack Sinfield 69* for a 201-run partnership to guide the team to 6/397 for an inspirational win against Toombul. Liam Smith also chipping in with 52 valuable runs.

2nd Grade playing at home on Peter Burge Oval were chasing six more wickets as they looked to defend 152 with Toombul resuming their innings at 4/68. The Redlands bowlers went right to work & soon had Toombul at 8/130 but they eventually passed the score nine wickets down & were all out for 169. It was a tough loss for the guys as they looked like they were going to grab that last wicket. Bailey Stewart taking 4/54 (30) & Jasper Sumner 3/49 (26). Redlands finishing up 5/120 in their second innings with Josh Fraser 56 & Stephan Muller 42 scoring runs.
3rd Grade playing on La Frantz Oval at Toombul were chasing 175 & started the day at 2/19. A couple of partnerships allowed Redlands to gain momentum early, but a middle order collapse had the game in the balance as they fell to 8/127. Christian Robertson 50 (115) & Rob Ballerino 36 (86) steered the team home to be eventually bowled out for 213. A very important win for the team at this stage of the season. Damyn Waddups also scored 49 (61) at the top of the order, before he was eventually run out. Toombul finished the day 0/55 in their second innings.
4th Grade playing on Fred Kratzmann Oval with Redlands looking to defend 177. Toombul resumed their innings at 1/37, but wickets began to fall fast & they found themselves in trouble at 8/75 with Alex Ward taking 5/53 & Jason Hill taking 2/34. Toombul dug in & built a couple of key partnerships at the end to get to 9/123 & then the 10th wicket looked like they were going to steal an unlikely win as they put on 50 runs only to fall just four runs short for 173. An amazing win by all of the lads involved.
5th Grade playing at Curlew Park against Toombul posted 260 runs last week & had Toombul at 3/44 at the end of day one. Toombul looked to dig in but some great bowling from Shane Beu after his 4 wickets in 6th grade last week saw him promoted & he went on to take his first five wicket hall in 5th grade for Redlands taking 5/28. He was well supported by Lincoln Rosiak taking 2/14. Redlands eventually bowling Toombul out for 176. Redlands posting 4/88 in their second innings.
6th Grade – 6.1’s playing on Chelmer Park took on Wests. Wests batted first & were dismissed for 117 last week. Redlands starting our run chase at 4/81 on week two, the middle order batted well as they combined to chase down the runs to get the first innings win. Top run scorers for Redlands were Jake Davies 45, Ben Stuart 25, Jay Kildey 24, Lachlan Wilson 24 & Mason Catlow-Elliott 23. Redlands eventually dismissed for 188. Wests finished 6/150 in their second innings with Ed Little picking up 3/47 (12).
6th Grade - 6.2’s playing on Ron Field Oval took on Wynnum Manly. Wynnum Manly decided to bat on after they posted 6/286 last week & eventually declared 7/337. Shane Beu finishing with 4/58 & Sean Lloyd 2/69. The Redlands batting group left with the challenge to bat out 67 overs for the draw. Several batsmen made starts only to get out & Redlands were dismissed for 178. The best of the batsman were Jack Robinson 40, Will Read 35, James Read 25 & Connor Ahpene 25. Lords Taverner’s playing on Peter Burge Oval took on West’s. Redlands bowling first built pressure right from the outset. The fielding was sharp & the energy levels were high as Redlands eyed off a semifinal spot. Wickets fell at regular intervals with Wests eventually dismissed for 112 in the 44th over. The best of the bowlers was Jacob Dunne 4/28 (9), Carter Pearson 3/16 (10) & James Puller 3/15 (6.3). The run chase didn’t start well with both openers dismissed early as the storm looked to cut the day short. But Keegan McClean 49* (74) & Rueben Burger 55* (56) didn’t miss a beat as they chased down the small total in the 24th over to secure a bonus point win coming into the finals.
Women’s 1st Grade played on Graceville Memorial against West’s. Wests batting first were dismissed for 113. Our bowlers all chipping in with wickets Clodagh Ryall 3/18 (7), Del Laycock 3/26 (6.2), Jess Sanders 2/10 (3), Hannah McLaughlin 1/13 (5) & Grace Juriansz 1/12 (2). The run chase didn’t start as planned but Jessica Bird 38 continued with her good form, Clodagh Ryall 33 & Grace Juriansz 18 guided the team home for a hard-fought & well-deserved win.
Women’s 2nd Grade playing on Fred Kratzmann Oval played the Sunshine Coast. Batting first the Redlands ladies faced an on-fire bowling attack as they were dismissed for just 51. The best of the batting was from Jo Little with 12. In response, Sunshine Coast chased down the runs 1/52 securing the win.
