The Chairman of the Bradman Foundation, Leon Zwier, has announced that Andrew Leeming has been appointed as the new CEO of the Bradman Foundation and Museum.
In making the announcement, Leon Zwier said “Andrew brings a vast range of skills and experience which makes him the perfect choice for this esteemed position. Further to his extensive business career, Andrew possesses a deep knowledge of cricket, a passion for its history, and curatorial experience of Sir Donald Bradman.”
Andrew oversaw and curated the restoration of Sir Donald Bradman’s childhood home at Shepherd Street, Bowral. The restoration won the National Trust’s 2013 Award for Conservation and Heritage. The restoration has received widespread critical acclaim, with veteran ABC broadcaster Jim Maxwell saying that “A visit to Shepherd Street is all about Australian social history and a sporting phenomenon called Bradman.”
Mr Zwier added “Andrew’s experience as a former advisory board member of the Wellington Foundation, a not for profit educational foundation, will also be of great value in helping to develop the Bradman Foundation’s philanthropy program.”
Mr Leeming said, “I am honoured to be taking on the leadership of the Bradman Foundation and Museum and look forward to working with the board in taking the Foundation into its next stage of development.”
Mr Leeming will begin a transition period with outgoing Executive Director Rina Hore, before commencing on 8 November.
