No picket will be safe from Bowral to Mittagong next week, as the Bradman Foundation hosts the second annual Masters T20 Tournament.
The tournament, which will run from Monday 14th – Wednesday 16th February, is for Over 60’s and gives some of the region’s local talent the chance to shine, all while helping to raise valuable funds for the Bradman Foundation’s Coverdrive Program.
A round-robin format, five teams will represent the ACT, Highlands, Hunter Lord Taverners, North East Victoria and Mid North Coast. They will battle it out across three days and four matches; with cricket being played at both Bradman Oval and Chater Oval in Mittagong.
The Bradman Masters T20 Tournament is back!
Sure to be hotly contested, the winning team will be the side with the most tournament points at the conclusion of their four matches. With 10 points available for a win, 5 for a tie and a further 2 bonus points for every 40 runs scored/ 3 wickets taken, every ball will matter in the race for the title.
Off the field, the Bradman Foundation and Museum are looking forward to welcoming players and supporters from all regions. Drinks and nibbles will be provided at the Bradman Pavilion from 6pm on Monday, while registered players will also receive a multiple entry Museum pass, so they can soak up cricketing history at the Bradman Museum.
Thanks must be extended to Bradman Cricket Officer, Jock McIllhatton for his tireless work in organising the tournament, as well as Mark Coles and the Highlands Over 60’s for their co-operation and assistance. To that end, thank you to the Bradman staff and volunteers who have helped make this week possible.
Finally, to Phil Kerr (Bradman Oval) and Matt Cupitt (Chater Oval), thank you for preparing the grounds and wickets for the tournament. You continue to provide outstanding facilities and we look forward to some good quality cricket!
