The Head Coach is primarily responsible for ensuring that Premier Cricket Club Training is planned, coordinated, organised and run at a high standard; maximising participation, enjoyment, inclusion and the use of the Club’s specialist coaches.
About the Club
Founded in 1985, the Campbelltown Camden District Cricket Club holds a proud history in the community, having serviced the local families, international and overseas players, and the local District Cricket Association in many facets throughout our history. Located in the Macarthur Region, the Raby Sports Complex continues to evolve and is considered the best cricket complex outside of the Sydney Cricket Ground. Nowhere in Australia is there a Cricket-specific complex that attracts as many players in large cricket carnivals, high performance events and Premier Cricket matches.
The Campbelltown Camden District Cricket Club is one of Australia’s largest Premier Cricket Club’s competing in the Sydney Cricket Association. In 2022 /23 the CCDCC will consist of 7 x men’s teams (2 of which have allocated coaches), 4 x women’s teams and a junior representative pathway of 7 teams that are managed by other coaches. We are also home to the most high-performance indigenous players in the country.
The Raby Sports Complex grounds regularly host International, National and State fixtures. The four magnificently curated turf grounds sit abreast, surrounded by modern indoor and outdoor training facilities. Pavilions provide comfort and the ability to host players and spectators with outstanding viewing of the grounds.
Training facilities include:
- Large Turf nets
- Access to Gym Facilities
- Indoor Training Facility (Soon to be rebuilt into an ultra-modern facility) Outdoor Synthetic nets
Key Roles and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the organising and the conducting of Pre-Season Training and In-season training. (Male – Twice per week / Female – Once per week)
- Ensure Premier Cricket training is of a high standard that both provides quality outcomes for players as well as methods that are in line with the Club’s values and ethics, and provides an enjoyable environment for players to participate in.
- Implement and communicate weekly/fortnightly/monthly training plans to ensure that the Specialist/Line Coaches and Leadership Group can assist in the implementation and overall running of the Training Plan
- Ensure that training is organised, well planned and expectations are clearly communicated to players.
- Assist in the Recruitment of Senior Players.
- Assist in identifying potential future leaders for the Club, both internally and externally.
- Communicate with the Club’s Management Committee at regular intervals.
- The Head Coach is also expected to attend most match days to assist Captain’s and to observe player development.
- Be available for consultation with the Chairman of Selectors.
Skills Required:
- Excellent organisation and planning skills
- Sound knowledge of skill sets & effective Program Management.
- Strong communication skills
- Be approachable and flexible
- Minimum Level 2 Coaching Accreditation (mandatory). Level 3 highly advantageous
- Can demonstrate previous coaching experience
- Willing to be a Non-Playing Coach (preferred but not mandatory)
- Reasonably strong computer and technological skills
- CA & Cricket New South Wales pathway knowledge an advantage.
- An ambition to develop future coaches Remuneration:
- A flexible and generous remuneration package is available depending on the candidate and relevant experience.
