The Grassroots Cricket Fund (GCF) is providing up to $2 million to clubs and indoor centres to help make them even better places to play our game this season.

The GCF was established by Australia’s Cricketers to strengthen and grow grassroots cricket and over the past four seasons, provided $10.6 million to the cricket community as part of an ongoing commitment by the Australian Cricketers’ Association and Cricket Australia to help strengthen and grow cricket. They are proud to again help those who help drive grassroots cricket and bring communities together.

To find your most appropriate funding opportunities, please read below:

Option 1 – Automated External Defibrillator* - the GCF is supporting clubs and centres with the provision of portable AED’s (valued at ~$2,000) that are a vital link in the ‘chain of survival’ in increasing survival rates of people going into sudden cardiac arrest. An opportunity in ensuring the safety of your players, volunteers, coaches and umpires is prioritised.

Greg Page, Founder of Heart of the Nation, Darren Lehmann and Christian Sulisz (Kenmore Cricket Club President) spoke to the importance of clubs having access to this life saving device with their teams, at their venues and at all games, to ensure that should someone go into cardiac arrest, there is one on hand within 3-5 minutes.

Option 2 – Hardship Package* - the GCF wants to ensure that cost is not a barrier to those wanting to play cricket in their local community by providing funds to clubs who can then subsidise registration fees, equipment and travel costs for individuals and families. Clubs can apply for a maximum of up to $2,000 that can then be used to support identified individuals and families.

Option 3 – Equipment** - the GCF continues to support clubs and centres with the provision of much needed on and off-field equipment such as technology hardware and software like laptops, iPads and subscriptions, training equipment such as portable stumps, and equipment kits for junior participants. Grants of up to $1,500 are available under this option.

Option 4 – Volunteer and Organisational Capacity** - ensuring that volunteers have the skills and support to continue to deliver the game on behalf of Australian Cricket remains a priority and that is why up to $5,000 is available to clubs and centres under this option. Whether it be building core administrative capacity around managing finances and strategic planning, or equipping volunteers with critical skills through the provision of Mental Health First Aid the GCF wants to ensure that clubs and centres have the financial backing to explore all options.
