Wicketkeeper John Maclean captained Queensland 30 times in an 86 game career from 1968 until 1979.  He played in teams that agonisingly finished second 4 times in the quest for their first Sheffield Shield including 3 in a row. An icon of the game in the state he also played 4 tests for Australia and names his greatest ever Queensland team:
