There has been some cricketers who have passed away at a young age.

1. Collie Smith - 1959 - age 26 - he died in a car accident in England. He could have been a great all-rounder.


2. Ben Hollioake - 2002 - age 24 - he also tragically died in a car accident.

3. Ken Wadsworth- 1976 - age 29 - He passed away due to cancer 5 months after being diagnosed. He was the 1st keeper to score a hundred in ODI history. Ken Wadsworth (pictured)


4. Victor Trumper - 2015 - age 37- he passed away due to Bright’s disease. He was a great batsman and one of the founding father of Rugby League.

5. Archie Jackson - 1933 - age 24 - passed away due to Tuberculosis.


6. Syd Buller - legendary umpire - 1970 - age 60 - he passed during a county match when he collapsed in the dressing room during the rain break.

7. Hedley Verity and Ken Farnswoth passed away in the Second World War.

8. Nawab of Pataudi Senior - 1952 - age 42 - passed away while playing polo. He had a heart attack.


9. MV Nagendra - 1978 - age 45 - Indian test umpire. He along with Judah Reuben were India’s best umpires in the 1970’s. His father was also a Test umpire. He attended a training session and fell ill and died of a heart attack.
