Lucy Bowering is an off spin bowler and bats in the middle order for Glenelg District Cricket Club.

Lucy has represented South Australia through the juniors and is now looking forward to the challenges ahead.

Firstly, what year were you born and where?

2004, Adelaide

What’s been your most memorable moment in cricket?

Beating Northern Districts by 1 run off the last ball in the last round of the 2019/20 T20 minor round. It got us into the T20 final

Who is the fastest bowler you’ve ever played against?

Darcie Brown – Northern Districts

Who is the funniest team mate at the club?

Rachael Brown – she’s full of energy, has a fun approach to cricket

What makes Glenelg Cricket Club such a great club?

The supportive and friendly culture, the coaches, our home ground and the great volunteers

Tell us briefly about your cricket journey, where you’ve played, and greatest achievements so far etc.

First started playing at Paringa Park Primary and then played some school representative teams for Western Metro Region. I played B Grade for Glenelg in 2016/17 and made the U12 state team played to play in Canberra and the U15 state team to also play in Canberra.

I played under 18 state team played in Tasmania and have played 4 seasons of district cricket for Glenelg.

Greatest achievements – I took a hat-trick against Adelaide Uni in 2017/18 season and was the leading wicket taker for Glenelg in 2019/20 season. I also won the Shelly Nitschke trophy for U18 SA player of the championships in 2020.

Ash Barty. Inspiring, determined and humble

Croissants – because they are a treat and they’re yum

Rowan Atkinson

What is your favourite movie?

Mrs. Doubtfire

Who would you most like to see live in concert?

Coldplay

Who are the two local cricketers that you admire most in terms of skill and competitive sport?

Anesu Mushangwe and Alex Carey

What do you enjoy most about playing cricket?

Different skills involved in the game, playing as part of a team, taking wickets, the developmental aspect of cricket – always something to improve on.
