* in 1950, Waratahs played its first game as Waratahs Cricket Club of Armidale, when it played against High School (i.e. Armidale HS) in A-Reserve grade. They wouldn't last there long, being promoted to A grade before Christmas and staying there until it became 1st grade in 1981. It would remain in 1st grade until 1994. The team for that first game - The Originals - were: S Blake, Laurie Cooper, John Carr, J Hocking, Joe Leahy, Vic Snell, D Nott, Ross Ridley, Beau Richardson, John Ridley, N Logan and A Kerwin. Can anyone help us with the first names?

* in 1972, Cliff Schaffer and Ian Campbell added a grade record 216 for the second wicket for A-Res v Uralla. Campbelli made 131, his only club hundred. Not bad for the opening day of the season! No scoresheet I'm afraid.
