What year you were born?
1981
Can you remember you first game of cricket?
Langwarrin Under 12s. I made 2 off 2 balls but I was hooked
Tell us briefly about your cricketing journey?
Langwarrin, Pines, Rowville, Delacombe Park
In which grade and at what age did you make your debut in senior cricket?
I think I was 12 or 13 and I played in the Langwarrin 5ths
What was the highest grade you played and can you remember what you were feeling when you were selected and how did you perform on debut?
Provincial Firsts I was pretty cocky on debut I was young and made 4 and was sent back down to earth pretty quickly
If you can share with our audience, how would you describe yourself as a cricketer?
Younger – Fast Bowler and a dashing opening batsman
Older – Slow wobblers and lower order slogger
Would do anything to win!!
What were your strengths as a player?
My ability to get under opposition’s skin.
What was your highest score in senior cricket?
153 vs Main Ridge District in firsts.
What were your best bowling figures in senior cricket?
Got 8 for 56 for Langwarrin in a 3rds Grand Final when I was 18.
Who were the best three fast bowlers you have played against?
Scott Phillips – Fast and could swing it
Terry Doyle – Fast and Mean
Paul Hartle – Fast and could move the ball
Who were the best three spinners you have played against?
Tim Birch – Smart and never gave a bad ball
Rod Boheman – Never seen someone at local cricket who could bowl a flipper
Who were the best 3 batsman you’ve played against?
Simon Dart – Amazing Concentration
Luke Walker – Could never get him out
Chicco (Nick Christides) – The master blaster
Who played the best innings you’ve seen firsthand playing with or against?
Joel Malcolm - Grand Final 100 odd not out Amazing knock, tough.
Jake Prosser - 70 odd in the Grand Final to guide us home
Was there any bowler in particular who whatever reason seem to always cause you a few problems?
Most bowlers cause me problems but Scott Phillips cleaned me up a fair bit
Can you recall a time when you thought, wow, this is a step or two up from what you were used?
When I was young and cocky and got thrown into the Firsts I just wasn’t ready for the step up
Who was the best wicket keeper you’ve seen firsthand playing with or against?
Danny Weare was a great all rounder
Rik Antsiss – Amazing up to the jump
Who are the two players you admired most in terms of skills and competitive spirit in the competitions you played?
My Dad and great cricketer who never gave in
Adrian Mack - The junk yard dog, great bowler
Who was the best captain you had the good fortune to play with?
Adrian Mack believed in me and made me feel that I was a big part of the team
Who has been your funniest team mate?
My best mate Jezza Weare for sure
Can you recall some banter or an exchange on the cricket field that still makes you laugh today?
What happens on the field stays on the field. Lol
Who was your childhood hero?
Peter Daicos
Who are the three sports people in the world you’d most like to meet?
Michael Jordan, Ronaldo and Shane Warne

Bill Lawry I loved his passion

What’s been your most memorable moment in cricket?
All the firsts’ premierships and playing firsts with my son Liam
What’s the best win you’ve been involved with?
Any of the grand final wins that’s what it’s about in the end
Who are the three players from your playing days at the top of the list for a Saturday afternoon barbeque?
Jezza Weare , Sauce ( Harley Peace-Stirling) , Rhys Chalkley
What are your hobbies?
Triathlons Punting watching my kids play sport

Enjoy your life you only get one
