Jake Prosser played most of his junior and senior cricket with Langwarrin Cricket Club however recently he moved to Cardinia Cricket Club in the West Gippsland competition.
A value contributor with both and ball Jake has won multiple premierships, let’s find out more about his journey and thoughts.

What year you were born?
1992
Can you remember you first game of cricket?
Yes, I was about 9 and it was at the old Frankston ground where the new swimming centre is. I made a golden duck.
Tell us briefly about your cricketing journey?
Played most of my cricket at Langwarrin and have played two years at Pines and currently at Cardinia CC
In which grade and at what age did you make your debut in senior cricket?
13 years old in the 7s at Langwarrin.
What was the highest grade you played and can you remember what you were feeling when you were selected and how did you perform on debut?
My first debut was for Langwarrin against Heatherhill when I was 15. I got run out for a duck and it was a much better opposition than I thought.
If you can share with our audience, how would you describe yourself as a cricketer?
An attempted all rounder
What were your strengths as a player?
Determination to win.

What was your highest score in senior cricket?
125 not out in the Langwarrin 2nds
What were your best bowling figures in senior cricket?
18 overs 5 for 28 at both Langwarrin and Pines.
Who were the best three fast bowlers you have played against?
Mark Fulton - angry and scary
Scott Phillips - all round gun
Shane Deal - got me out about 6 times

Who were the best three spinners you have played against?
Yohan Maddege - really fast leg spinner
Dwayne Doig- a gun but sweep all day
Boof Williams - spins it a mile
Who were the best 3 batsman you’ve played against?
Chris Brittain - don’t think I even need to say anything
Bobby Wilson - one of the best in the comp
Nick Jewell - just dictates the game
Who played the best innings you’ve seen firsthand playing with or against
Either Bobby Wilson’s 120 at Langwarrin or Chris Brittain 81 not out when they won 9 wickets down
Was there any bowler in particular who whatever reason always seemed to cause you a few problems?
Yes Shane Deal, I still have nightmares about him.

Can you recall a time when you thought, wow, this is a step or two up from what you were used to?
My first game in firsts and also when we were nearly beaten outright in a day against Sorrento. Jake Wood and Adeel Hussain bowled thunderbolts.
Who was the best wicket keeper you’ve seen firsthand playing with or against?
Playing with Rick Antsiss.
Playing against the old Sorrento keeper – Rob Dunball
Who are the two players you admired most in terms of skills and competitive spirit in the competitions you played?
Trav Campbell and Jake Wood.

Who was the best captain you had the good fortune to play with?
Rama (Ricky Ramsdale) for my development and he just doesn’t cop shit.
Who has been your funniest team mate?
Adam Campbell - the windmill
Who was your childhood hero?
Andrew Symonds.

Who’s your favourite cricket commentator?

What was your favourite ground to play at?
The Junction oval.

What’s been your most memorable moment in cricket?
My first hundred in firsts and every grand final win.

Chasing 222 in the grand final

Trav Campbell, Sauce, Huss (Tom Hussey)
What are your hobbies?
I don’t have any, Dan Andrews took them.

If you were running a state cricket association what would your 2 priorities to ensure cricket in the state remained strong and successful on and off the field?
A good junior program and not as many grades in Premier cricket
