Jet Liebke is a wicket batsman who made his first grade debut during the 2018/19 season at just 17years of age.
Jet has come through the junior ranks representing Queensland at a number of age groups and was selected in the Australian Under 16 team
At the completion of the 2020/21 Jet has scored 4 half centuries for the Gators in first grade and taken 45 dismissals – 38 catches and 7 stumpings.

I’m a top order wicket keeper batsman who likes to get into the contest and on the attack
What’s been your most memorable moment in cricket so far?
Most memorable moment in Cricket would have to be scoring a 100 for Australia Under 16 in Melbourne against Pakistan 16s, and a couple of first grade innings being not out hitting the winning runs
At what age did you make your first grade debut?
I made my First grade debut at 17

Who is the fastest bowler you’ve played against?

Who is the best spinner you’ve played against?
I haven’t played against him, but Mitchell Swepson is the best spinner that I’ve have played with and fortunate to play a few games with him. It’s a challenge but a good one, every ball you feel like he’s going to beat the bat or create some sort of dismissal, so keeping to him is a great experience and good taste of first class cricket.

Who played the best innings you’ve seen firsthand playing with or against?
Lachlan Thompson - 2021 Sandgate Redcliffe v Western Suburbs
It was a must win game for us to advance into the quarter finals against a full stacked bowling line up. He got a big 100 which won us the game and one of the best innings I’ve seen.
How he came in early and set up his innings and then found a way to score runs all day was great to watch.
I’ve taken a lot of how he goes about batting and the way that he thinks. It’s nice to have senior players giving out that sort of advice.
Who are the two players in Premier Cricket you’ve come to admire most in terms of skills and competitive spirit in the competitions you played?
Bryce Street- very determined player, incredibly fit, opens the batting and bowls very long spells, always a competitor
Lachlan Thompson- great Knowledge, explains things well, calm player
Who was the best wicket keeper you’ve seen firsthand playing with or against?
James Pierson, current Queensland Bulls wicket keeper.
Who was the best captain you had the good fortune to play with?
Corey Barsby at Sandgate has a great cricketing mind and has helped me a lot especially when I was making my way into the first grade. He is someone that gets along with everyone, a very good mate.
Can you recall some banter or an exchange on the cricket field that still makes you laugh today?
Every Saturday the boys have some good stories to tell and they always brings a laugh to everybody.
Who’s been the biggest influence on your career so far?
Definitely my Mum and Dad taking me to all my training sessions and games when I was younger , supporting me every weekend, providing me with all me gear, I owe my parents a lot for all their time and support which I greatly appreciate.
Where do you find inspiration that gets you through challenging times?
I tend to reflect on my family and our own struggles and just think about how we have overcome some challenging times.

What do you like to do to relax outside cricket?
When I’m not playing cricket, I like to spend time with my family and partner. Going up the coast spending time at the beach as well as bike riding and 4 wheel driving.
Who in your opinion has the best nickname in Premier Cricket and do you know the story behind the nickname
I have no clue who has the best nickname in Premier Cricket just yet.
Are studying or working?
Away from cricket I’m an apprentice carpenter for a building company called Harvey Build
Do you have a favourite quote?
The pendulum will always swing. It’s a reference I always go back to when things get tough, it will eventually get better

To play first Class Cricket would mean the world to me. Cricket is my passion and has been for a very long time, its dream I hope someday will come true.
