Seaforth Black U/12s hosted Eastern Suburbs Beasties Blue last Sunday, running out winners 17-5 in a top quality fixture at Bantry Bay Reserve.
It was just the team's second game in the top grade having been promoted after winning B Grade last season.
The Blacks combine long-standing Seaforth stalwarts with players new to the sport of rugby union.
Yet it's clear that every one of them is loving the new challenge and new mates, according to team insiders.
On Sunday the boys were up against a very well-drilled and physical Easts side and had to pull out their A-game to get the win.
The effort was led by loose forward Jett Semmens who was outstanding across the ground and topped the tackle count for the day.
Coco Marsters owned the breakdown and caused Easts countless headaches with her industrious, skilful work over the ball. The girl was just about immovable.

Calm leadership was provided by scrum half, and captain for the day, Taiaroa Lowe, whose service from the base of the ruck was slick and dependable.
One beneficiary of the excellent work by his captain and forwards was Sifa Oldfield, who scored two brilliant tries.

Meanwhile Lucas Hickson, Oscar Crotty, Saxon Wood and Kinder Trueman caused havoc from the back.
All in a comprehensive team effort from the Blacks who definitely don't look out of place in the upper echelons of the Sydney Junior Rugby competition.

There are probably other methods of communication perhaps using pigeons, or I dunno, macaques? Or even front him via old school face-to-face voice communications when the U/9s of Allambie Jets Green and Balgowlah Suns Gold play games of footy. Look out for the assistant coach sending on too many reserves.
