St George District Cricket Club batting prodigy Sam Konstas continued his tremendous form with his maiden 2nd Grade century yesterday against Sydney University at Hurstville Oval.

Sam is only 16 years of age and opening the batting produced a gem of an innings scoring 103 off 140 balls in St Grade 4 runs victory.

If we crunch some numbers for Sam’s 2021/22 season so far

In St George premiership winning Green Shield season Sam had 10 innings and scored 795 runs. A new club record and the 2nd highest in the history of the competition.

In Green Shield over 4 years and in 32 Innings Sam scored 1670 runs at 64.23. This is a new record for the whole of the competition. Previous record was by Ken Eastwood from Gordon with 1519 runs at 60.76 over 70 years ago. Ken Eastwood played one test for Australia.

In 2021/22 Sam has scored 1088 runs for St George. 4 Centuries and 8 half centuries. 563 runs in January 2022 including 3 Centuries and 3 Half Centuries.
