Before John Rogers became famous as the father of run machine Chris Rogers he was a very successful cricketer himself.
He played 10 seasons during a very successful period for the Saints where many a first grade premiership was won under the astute leadership of Warren Saunders.
During this time he amassed 3989 1st grade runs including 3 centuries. He also played 4 First Class games for NSW with a top score of 65.
When Warren Saunders retired he took over the captaincy for a few seasons before eventually moving onto the UNSW where he won a 1st grade premiership as captain in his first season
