Though his bet features teams and players he has never heard of in sports he doesn’t watch in countries he couldn’t find on a map, punter Brent Carter still holds high hopes that his late-night wager could turn $26 into $4178.

“All those $1.42 pops, they add up," Carter said.

“You go through the quick pick thingy and before you know it, you’ve got 160-to-1.

“You’ve got to love those odds.”

The wager features such match-ups as the Russia Liga Pro Men’s table tennis match between Viktor Rakhmanov and Zhasur Khudaiberdiev in which Carter has opted for Khudaiberdiev to prevail at $1.53.

Carter, 28, of Bowral in the NSW Southern Highlands, admits his “research” consisted of scrolling down through selections on his phone and clicking the box for the shortest-priced favourite.

And yet he remains confident that Nomme Kalju ($1.24) can beat rivals Kuressaare in Estonian Meistriliiga, while Andrey Matcyk ($1.33) should beat Vasil Salivonchyk in the fourth round Ukraine Win Cup fixture.

Multi-buster: Vasil Salivonchyk ($3.25).

Yet the leg that Carter’s wager is most boosted by is the Belarus Reserve League match between FC Dinamo Brest Reserves and BATE Borisov Reserves, with Carter tipping a draw at $3.65.

"I was a bit pissed when I got home Saturday night, but I was still able to get the bet on my phone.

“I take my hat off to the betting company – the app sure does make it easy for mug I mean multi punters like myself,” Carter said.
