Tom Jagot is UTS North Sydney first grade cap number 644 and prior to the 2020/21 season he’s scored 2,691 first grade runs for the Bears at the impressive average of 43.40 and hit 7 centuries and 11 half centuries.

Adam Crosthwaite (143 not out) and Tom (125 not out) currently hold the record for the highest 4th wicket partnership in first grade – 261 against Sydney in 2018/19.

Tom has started the season in excellent form scoring 149 not out against Parramatta in the 2nd round of the NSW premier Cricket Competition

1995

If you can share with our readers how you would describe yourself as a cricketer?

Batsmen, although fancy myself as a leggie

What’s been your most memorable moment in cricket so far?

Probably winning back to back U19 championships as a youngster

At what age did you make your first grade debut?

17

Who’s your favourite all-time cricketer?

Ricky Ponting

Who is the fastest bowler you’ve played against?

Had a game against Tymal Mills in England. Was slippery.

Who is the best spinner you’ve played against?

Steve O’Keefe

Who played the best innings you’ve seen firsthand playing with or against?

Justin Avendano cracked 140 not out at Penrith in the semi-final two years ago. On a tough wicket and with our team in trouble he single handily dragged us back into the game.

Who are the two players in NSW Premier Cricket you’ve come to admire most in terms of skills and competitive spirit in the competitions you played?

I’m always impressed with Josh Clarke and Adam Crosthwaite had a big impact on me when I played with him.

Who’s the king of selfies at your club?

My housemate Olly Knight

Can you recall some banter or an exchange on the cricket field that still makes you laugh today?

Last season my mate Olly Knight was running into bowl, the batsmen pulled away. Olly, upset with completing his full run not to bowl then ball asked if the batsman was ready when he next got back to the top of his mark. The batsman proceeded to hit the next one 140 metres over midwicket for six. It was one of our own teammates who remarked “I think he was ready Ol”

Who’s been the biggest influence on your career so far?

My old man. Always available to side am at me and to fish my kit out of the bin after a bad day.

Where do you find inspiration that gets you through challenging times?

My teammates.

Who are the three people in the world you’d love to have a chat to in person?

Lebron James, Ricky Ponting, Barack Obama

What do you like to do to relax outside cricket?

I like to play a little golf, maybe get to the beach.

What do you do outside of cricket?

I’m at UTS studying health science
