Life Membership awarded to Umpire Graeme Fredrickson.
Congratulations to Graeme Fredrickson who was awarded Life Membership of the Warehouse Cricket Umpires Association at its AGM on Tuesday night.
Like so many in their younger days, Graeme played regular weekend community cricket in Churches Cricket and in his later playing days with his sons in Warehouse Cricket teams.
It was with the encouragement of his sons, ("I was not sure if they wanted the Old Man out of their team, or simply to Umpire", quipped Barry) who undertook his initial Umpire Training Course with Morrie Bernard and Barry Edwards in 2005.
Since that time Graeme has regularly umpired each Warehouse season. When asked why he gives up those weekends each season, Barry stated that: "I umpire as I wish to give back something back to the Game of cricket that I love."
Graeme has served on the Executive Committee of the Umpires Association since 2010 in several roles and is the current Vice President of the Umpires Association.
Graeme encourages more former and current players to take up the mantle of Umpiring who are sorely needed.
